Restoration 2001 - White Oak, TX. Oh Cool!
What an awesome gathering of artists and
Christians! We had a complete blast at this
gig. Things were a little messy on the schedule
end of things, but God's timing is always
best. We ended up playing on the back stage
before Clay Crosse. A couple of the guys
got to hang around and meet Sonic Flood!
WAY COOL!!! They put on a great show complete
with lights and everything. They totally
rocked the city!
We totally loved serving in this way. The
crowd was just great! Thanks for inviting
us and call us again next year!
10/28/2001
Dallas Sound Labs - Dallas, TX. COOL! We
walked out of there with a new song practically
finished all courtesy of the awesome Mr.
Mowery! Thanks man! A little post-production
work, and it will be ready to add to the
CD. The name of the song is "Secret"
and we can't wait to share it with you. It's
a story about secret sins and the way that
God can set us free from them.
10/27/2001
Youth Connection - Tioga, TX. 2 SOULS SAVED! Probably our best gig ever! God showed up
in a MAJOR way at this show. Thank you guys
for getting with the program. We absolutely
loved playing for you and ministering to
you! We can't wait to do it again! Thanks
for all your support too!
It was a smooth night all the way around.
No problems. God really allowed us to coast
on this one. We had potential scheduling
nightmares and some of us weren't able to
arrive until minutes before the show. Nevertheless...
God took our loaves and fishes and fed the
masses with 'em. WOW! The effect of this
show is going to still be with us well into
next year. The praise and worship lifted
the roof off the place... What more can you
ask for?
9/29/2001 Check out the Pictures
Bikers N Bands - Paris, TX. WOW! The bikes
rocked! It is so cool to see people using
their passion to serve God! And working with
Rain on the Land was a blessing from start to finish. You
guys were truly the easiest and most Christ-Like
group of guys to work with. Hey - let's do
more gigs together! The YMCA people were
just amazing and super helpful as well. Thanks
to the Christian Motorcycle Association for
the bikes and for all the service you provided
at the event. God will honor everyone's contribution.
9/18/2001 Check out the Pictures
C U @ The Pole Rally - FBC - Clarksville,
TX. Another good turnout. You guys rocked!
It was such a joy to be part of the recovery
process for the nation. The praise set was
inhabited by God which at least for us was
a chance to just talk to God in a special
way. It is our prayer that all you guys turned
out Wednesday morning to witness to your
school
Before we left, God was already starting
to change lives. There were 2 REDEDICATIONS on this night!!! You two are in our prayers
and we're praying that you take your faith
seriously and to a higher level.
9/16/2001 Check out the Pictures
C U @ The Pole Rally - RRV Bible Camp - Paris,
TX. Just 5 days after the terrible terrorist
activities and everyone was a little bummed
out. There was a good turnout which attests
to the fortitude of Americans everywhere.
Actually, God's timing is perfect once again
as he allowed such a horrible thing to occur
knowing that a few days afterward - just
when everyone is thinking about their mortality
- that See You at the Pole was planned. If
the whole group that attended this rally
showed up to their poles on Wednesday - God
got a serious opportunity to move. Thanks
to everyone who attended.
9/7/2001 Check out the Pictures
5th Quarter - Main St. Grill - Royse City,
TX. AWESOME doesn't even come close. This
was one great time of lifting up the name
of Jesus from beginning to end. It all started
when we were contacted by a member of The Shake to play in their place. We all felt like
it was important to play here, so we all
made significant sacrifices to play on short
notice. God rewarded our obedience.
We didn't play until 10:30, so we knew we'd
be late getting home. Greg, Mat, and I had
to go to work the next day, but we made it
through. The venue was just awesome and the
crowd really got into the praise and worship
part. It was amazing to see a group of people
who simply had to jump in order to fully
express their praise for God. Dave left the
stage and went down there with them. Greg
and I followed and it was a blast! (Sorry
Dave for unplugging you - I snagged your
cord with my clod hoppers)
Then there was the trip back - oh man! Greg's
truck broke down and they called me 7 times
to stop and help them. Unfortunately, I had
the phone buried in the truck on vibrate
and never knew it. I decided to check voicemail
and found all 7 messages the 5th of which
said "Dude - you just passed us!"
So 20 minutes later, I got back to where
they had gotten stranded only to find they'd
already gotten help from Dave and were on
their way home... what a comedy of errors.
The end result was - I met my bed at 3:30
the other guys got home about 3:00 and Greg
just went straight to work... What a day!
But it was all worth it. We got 10 people
registered in our database and sold a few
CDs and T-Shirts. But most importantly, we
shared the word of Jesus Christ in no uncertain
terms to a pretty big bunch of kids and adults.
Amen!
9/1/2001 Check out the Pictures
Extreme Cafe - Forney, TX. VERY COOL! Once
again, we were blessed by Extreme Cafe. You
guys have such a great ministry there! Steve
and the guys - thanks for putting up with
our sound system requests - you guys are
without a doubt the best! And thank you Jenifer,
for taking all the pictures and staffing
the merchandise table! It's always a special
treat to have you along! And Jan McInvale
- thank you for having us again - we thoroughly
enjoyed it as always!
Everything went smoothly for this gig. We
got setup, ate, changed, and prayed in plenty
of time to play. We didn't tell anyone (in
case we messed it up royally) but we debuted
a new song at this gig called "Secret".
It's got a really driving 80's kinda sound
to it (the good kind of 80's driving sound)
Anyway, it went off without a hitch. We couldn't
have asked for anything better. Glen gave
his testimony which had to have planted seeds
in the hearts of anyone who was lost in the
audience. We thank God for the opportunity
to minister in venues like this.
Unfortunately, we got word on Monday that
this was the last show Extreme Cafe will
put on. They are closing the doors. This
knowledge stirs up deep feelings of loss
because the Extreme Cafe has been such an
amazing blessing to us personally. It is
our deepest desire and prayer that you guys
are able to open again someday. Until then,
please stay in touch. We will certainly try
to stay in touch with you - our sisters and
brothers in the ministry together for Christ.
Farewell, friends.
7/28/2001 Check out the Pictures
Maxey Baptist Church Concert - Maxey, TX.
YEAH BOYEEE! We had a complete blast hanging
out with you guys and ministering to you.
The system was acting all funky for the first
time ever - so we know Satan didn't want
us to be heard. We got past it, though, and
didn't let it interfere with the message.
God allowed us to have a smooth setup, soundcheck,
and prayer time which we thanked Him for.
Gigs like this are all too uncommon. The
pizza was awesome! Anyway, Adam Jones kicked
it all off by introducing Travis Bone who
did three great songs to open. The awesome
Mr. Matthew T. was his usual amazing self
on sound. You guys rocked during the praise
and worship time. Especially on In the Secret...
Thank you for praising with us! We delivered
an explanation that "All have fallen
and come short of the Glory of God"
by explaining that being good simply doesn't
meet God's standard. We've got to have our
sins washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Thank you guys for having us - we thoroughly
enjoyed it. And thank you for your support
- you bought lots of t-shirts and CDs. We
really appreciate it. Your support goes 100%
back into the ministry.
6/30/2001 Check out the Pictures
Pineapple Studios - Arlington, TX. We went
back to the studio to fix a few little things
we'd noticed over the past month or so on
the recording. About 5 headaches and a case
of Red Bull later, we walked out with an
almost complete set of songs. On the way
home, we found something we missed and here's
where Pineapple showed their true colors...
Glen went back to the studio on Tuesday with
instructions from the rest of the band. Two
hours later, he walked out with the final
master of our first four songs... AT NO EXTRA
COST! Thanks, Pineapple, for making it right.
You guys rock! We will be back for sure!
6/23/2001 Check out the Pictures
Next Door - Dallas, TX. OH YEAH! This was
our first gig quite like this... There were
three bands total who played, and the venue
really isn't setup in such a way that it
is easy to minister, but God found a way!
BLISSE was at the Door which is next to where
we played and they were having a CD release
party. People were lined up around the block
to get in to see them... that was cool. More
cool, though is that we had a lot of support
too! All you guys that came just to see us,
THANK YOU! We are forever in your debt.
We only had 30 minutes to play, so we tailored
our set and practiced it to exactly 30 minutes.
Amazingly, we were able to minister at least
a little during that time. We believe VERY
strongly that we should never be entertainment,
so we held true to that belief even on this
night.
Food was interesting this trip... We ate
at some place near the gig that sold most
of us on a Turkey club, then told us they
were out of turkey!!! Everyone subbed ham
instead. It was cool! And of course, as always,
we wrapped up the evening with a stop at
our sponsor - IHOP. (Just kidding, please
don't sue us)
We wanted to hop around on the stage and
stuff, but we were afraid we'd break through
it. The platform was way cool, but it coulda
used a few more braces. The awesome Mr. Matthew
T. helped on sound and provided the special
effects on Let it Go (Thanks, Matt!), and Generous Jan and Sweet
Sarah took all the pics for us...Mr. Steve
was on standby for sound which we REALLY
appreciate - you are the MAN, Steve! How
do you do it? Overall it was a great gig
and we really enjoyed listening to the other
groups. 72 Others (Great clean, acoustic
sound with deep lyrics) and Rain on the Land (Awesome rocking stuff!) really lit the
place up with some great music.
6/5/2001 Check out the Pictures
First Christian Church Camp - Athens, TX.
IT TOTALLY ROCKED!!! You guys were just the
BEST! Thanks for all your help in setting
up and everything else. You graciously ran
sound, took pictures, and fed us! Special
thanks to Trey who ran sound and helped out,
Anthony who helped with the system and took
pictures, and all those who thoughtfully
saved us some much needed food. And thank
you all for buying the shirts! You guys wear
them when it counts and see if God doesn't
use ya!
The performance was one of the best we've
had. Everybody completely loved the rap in
The Power and lost their heads when Greg finished
it up. We were so excited about your reaction,
that we almost got a little confused ourselves.
And during Let it Go you guys took the pogo and ran with it!
Thanks! That was soooo cool! Never before
have we as a band been able to completely
lift up the name of the Lord like this night.
You guys totally made the praise and worship
segment exactly that. A staunch atheist could've
walked through the door and felt the obvious
presence of the Lord while you guys were
singing. What a blessing to have been there
with God inhabiting your praise! All we could
do is keep playing and backup from the mic.
Sometimes when God takes over, you just gotta
get out of the way and watch Him move. This
was one of those times.
The best part, by far though was the fact
that we were able to be used by God. Some
of our message tied in perfectly with the
keynote speaker's subject matter for the
night. He actually made reference to the
songs we did and the things we shared. God
is the best all time coordinator.
5/13/2001
First Christian Church - Paris, TX. Without
a doubt, this was the most appreciative crowd
we've ever played for. When we went into
the praise and worship section of the set,
you guys lifted the roof off the place. WOW
that was so cool! Then after the show, you
guys stormed the stage. I was personally
scared to death - but you guys were awesome!!
We can't wait to play for you guys in June!
Hey, by the way - that facility you've got
would sure make a great coffee house... Hint,
Hint!
The bad news: I popped my first bass string
ever just before the show. The good news:
God had a spare available through the awesome
Mr. Matthew T. Not only did he let me use
his bass which happens to be the same brand
as mine - but it's also the same color!
4/28/2001 - 4/29/2001 Check out the Pictures
Pineapple Studios - Arlington, TX. WHAT A
BLAST! Barry "The Hatchet" Saling
was our engineer and producer. In short -
he rocked! We give God all the glory for
working an absolute miracle through the equipment
and Barry. We nailed four songs to the wall
- I'll be there, Superfriend, Let It Go,
and The Power. Clips and lyrics are up. Let It Go is just awesome! In all,
it was a great weekend of fellowship with
our brothers in Christ (Each other). We spent
the night at David and Rachel's house (Thanks,
Rachael for your hospitality and grace -
we are forever in your debt) and went to
their church on Sunday. Man, Rockwall is
blessed with a great church in First Baptist.
The Sunday School and worship services were
just amazing.
It never stops amazing us how God can take
a bunch of no talents and fill us up with
awesome licks when the time comes. We've
got loads of pictures and video clips from
the whole experience to share with you. We
plan to make them part of a multi-media CD
to be relased soon.
3/24/2001 Check out the Pictures
Extreme Cafe - Forney, TX. Jan, Steve, Mike,
Daniel, and all you guys - it just never
gets old. We got there early, got setup,
and even had time to pray TWICE before the
gig. That's a first! But it's the most important.
God allowed us to pray as a complete group
with the Extreme Cafe people and it was awesome!
He obviously orchestrated the prayer that
night and showed us that the body of the
church was complete right there through all
our presence. We all prayed that the message
Daniel delivered would nail the kids right
in the heart - and God came through. We played
and Daniel taught everyone that they have
a mission in life given to them by God. At
the end, there was an altar call that literally
buried the altar in a mass of humanity. People
getting right with God - That's what it's
all about.
2/24/2001 Check out the Pictures
Lakeview Church - Tawakoni, TX. AWESOME!
We totally enjoyed this one! Some of the
guys from Extreme Cafe showed up too! That's
so cool! Thanks for your support! And thank
you again, Steve, for running sound for us.
You're the MAN! We really poured our hearts
and souls into this gig. It sounded great
and the kids were really into it. We believe
we ministered to the group exactly like we
believe is God's will and exactly as we'd
hoped. It is such a blessing to know that
you're being used by God. Glen gave his testimony
and really drove home the important points.
The kids listened, so we know seeds were
planted. We never want to be just entertainment,
and this gig just really summed that point
up.
2/22/2001
Disciple NOW - EPBC - Paris, TX. It is so
gratifying to know we were part of something
God is doing. Over the Disciple NOW weekend,
several kids got saved. We opened the event
with a mini concert and praise session. Because
of technical difficulties, it wasn't as smooth
as we'd like - but we learned a long time
ago that it's not what we want, but want
HE wants that counts. We're just happy to
be given the opportunity to be obedient and
to serve.
2/10/2001 Check out the Pictures
Deport Baptist - Deport, TX. Thanks again,
God! 1 SOUL SAVED! Finally, a gig where there weren't any setup
or arrival problems. Sound check was awesome.
The "Right Reverend" performed
near the middle of the set and then Adam
Jones (the youth minister) gave a lesson.
And what an awesome job God did through him!
Glen gave the testimony of his life and how
God reached him. God obviously put exactly
the right words in all of them and wrote
the words in one of our songs to reach one
soul that night. I love it when a plan comes
together and I love it even more when God
lets us see a small part of his plan. Words
written maybe months or maybe years ago were
written for at least one purpose - to reach
one soul at Detroit Baptist Church on 2/10/01.
How cool is that?
1/28/2001
Azleway Boys Ranch - Tyler, TX. That's what
it's all about! 1 SOUL SAVED! What a way to start off the year. Azleway
Boys Ranch is an awesome ministry that needs
all of your prayers. They've been helping
boys in difficult situations for decades
with a Christ-centered slant on their counseling.
The staff we met was absolutely on fire for
God and willing to do whatever it took to
reach the boys. It was an honor to meet you
guys. And thanks for putting us up in your
recreation center - I didn't think we'd ever
get to sleep, but we loved every minute of
it! Please have us back again! This whole
day was proof of the power in prayer. Just
before the gig, we felt so burdened with
the responsibility of standing before such
a group of boys that need God so much. We
asked God to take control, use us even though
we are not worthy, and to not let us squander
the opportunity to proclaim His Glory to
these boys. I think He answered our prayer
"Yes." God is so awesome! Thanks
for letting us be there when You moved in
that boy's life, God.
1/27/2001Check out the News Clip!
TNT Ministries- Longview, TX Dude, it was
loud and it was awesome! What a confidence
builder! This was our first gig after the
holiday break, so we needed to gain a little
confidence back. This was the place! TNT
ministries is a lot like Extreme Cafe in
Forney which provides a place for kids to
go on the weekend. More importantly, it provides
a non-intimidating way of bringing lost friends
to a Christian gathering. Hopefully a seed
gets planted in the process. We made sure
as always that the Truth of God was explained
and that everyone knew they could ask any
of us to lead them to a personal relationship
with Christ. Looking back on it, this was
the perfect preparation for the next day.
God had a plan we couldn't possibly have
comprehended.
11/4/2000
Extreme Cafe - Forney, TX. Man it was almost
like coming home. Mike, Jan, and Steve -
you guys are awesome! Thanks for your love,
support, and prayers. It's inspiring to be
in the presence of people like you! We actually got there without breaking down
or something!! As far as the gig went, it was Glen's first
time with electronic drums (Awesome) and
it seemed to go very well. We opened the
4:00 session and then Cody Pope (a youth
minister and heck of a speaker) delivered
an absolutely awe inspiring message, and
then CrossTied led us all in probably the
best praise and worship I've ever heard. The
best part for me though personally was when
Mike prayed over us all after the gig. He
reminded me and Greg of Robert Duvall in
the movie "The Apostle". Thanks,
Mike, for your confident and special way
of speaking to God and for doing so on our
behalf.
10/21/2000 Check out the Pictures
Aggie Habitat for Humanity Rock the House
Concert - College Station, TX. Wow! We're
not worthy!! For real, names like Forty Days,
Rythm, and Sycamore played at this event!
It was great to get back to the old alma
mater and even better to be playing and serving
God there. This was just an awesome experience.
The concert was outdoors and it rained pretty
much all weekend but that didn't matter.
Before we left, Greg spent all night sick
- but we weren't worried. We've learned that
lesson. Trust God and nothing and nobody
else. And as expected through faith, God
came through because Greg was able to play
and sing - no problem. Because of the rain,
the massive sound and light system wasn't
even powered up so we just used the monitors
for vocals and our amps for the guitars.
It was one of the best sounding gigs we've
done. The audience got on the stage with
us in order to escape the rain so we were
all up close and personal. That allowed us
to talk to them eye to eye and share God's
love effectively. Overall, it was way cool!
Hope they ask us back next year!
Hey Dave - What about them reflectors?
9/9/2000
Greg McNabb Benefit Concert- Paris Junior
College Auditorium- Paris, TX. God must get
a real kick out of watching us. No matter
how many times He proves it to us, we still
think everything's gotta be just right or
it won't be good enough for God. Lesson learned
tonight - It's never about what we do or
how we prepare, it's about God moving and
being glorified. Okay, let me back up and
explain. We started setting up around 1:30
and nothing went right from the beginning.
I started stressing. Couldn't get anything
to sound right with the system, we were using
new equipment for the first time, and Greg's
amp was blowing fuses... it was total chaos.
We didn't even get a sound check. We did
provide sound checks for the other people
playing that night and they sounded great.
I should've seen God moving right then, but
I was still stressing. Then, we prayed as
a group with everyone that was playing that
night. God prayed a prayer right through
Bro. Steve (our music minister) that just
put everything back in perspective. We were
there to honor God and to help a friend in
need. That's what we did, and God did get
the glory. To anyone who heard us attempt
that one song sound check - I want to take
this opportunity to apologize for the pain
you are probably still experiencing. I promise
your suffering won't last much longer. The
good news is, you got to hear how bad we
really sound and can see what happens when
God takes over. When we took the stage, I
had a peace that was very, very welcome.
Within 10 seconds of the first song, God
literally worked a miracle through the awesome
Mr. Matthew T., and had the mix absolutely
nailed. Really for the first time, I was
able to relax, enjoy God's presence, and
"feel the music." If a second to
God is as a thousand years to us, God's still
laughing at our ridiculous effort to do something
for Him. It's like a little kid making a
macaroni bracelet for mom and dad - the thought
is good, but if the gift is going to have
any spiritual value, God is gonna have to
make it so - Hopefully through us in some
way.
8/27/2000
Sunday Evening Service - East Paris Baptist
Church - Paris, TX. Amazed is the word that
comes to mind. I remember a guy in a group
years ago telling me "Your home church
will never support you as much as other churches."
Man, was he ever wrong! Our pastor prayed
over us before church and spoke with God
concerning each of us individually. I'm awed
by the quality and the nail head hitting
accuracy of his prayer. We played two songs
and two choruses to an almost full house.
And then, Bro. Mike begins his sermon with
an explanation of this ministry and a challenge
to the congregation to pray for us! What
more can you ask for? They've already provided
us a place to practice. Interceding with
God for us is exactly what we need. OK, church
- I'm expecting an explosion in this ministry
any day now. What can you dream up that God
can do? Well, multiply that times infinity
and you're still only a minuscule fraction
of the way there. MY God owns the cattle
on a thousand hills - You gonna doubt that?
And Bro. Mike brought the sermon to die for
- I mean stepped all over my toes and made
me love it! He challenged the entire church
that we aren't being faithful followers of
God. He's right. Thanks for picking me up,
pointing me in the right direction, and sending
me on my way. I needed that!
8/26/2000
Studio Time - Fishes and Loaves - Plano,
TX. I got stuck at work, but the two Gs (that's
Greg and Glen for you geeks that don't know)
made it and said the place was awesome. The
owner's spirit is in the right place and
it sounds like God has led us to the studio
we should use. I can't wait!
8/23/2000
Revival Youth Night - Trinity Baptist Church-
Bonham, TX. God's grace is sufficient again.
This was a great opportunity to serve with
Greg and My old pastor from the SYC days
- Dr. James Semple. I halfway expected to
get a less than warm reception from him,
but I shoulda known better. Dr. Semple has
always been a man of God who is concerned
about lost souls. He's very professional
in his conduct, but he never lets "religion"
get in the way of God. I hope to be half
the man you are someday, Dr. Semple. During
the normal revival services, several kids
were led to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Even though our performance was less than
stellar, God can make anything useful for
His glory and His kingdom. He proved it again
this night.
P.S. To the guys who stopped by while I was
getting gas at the Exxon station in Paris
- Thanks, fellas. You really lifted my spirits
that night and I needed it in a major way.
Thanks for your interest in this ministry.
Please stay in touch. Sorry I couldn't make
it to your revival, but give us a holler
and we'll come play sometime!
8/19/2000
Singles Conference.First Baptist Church -
Paris, TX. Wow! What awesome speakers these
guys lined up. Everything was well planned
and the lessons taught were just right on
the money. I hope these guys do this thing
annually because it's bound to grow into
something huge if they do. God used this
gig to prepare us for things in the future
I'm certain. They wanted us to lead praise
and worship at the beginning of three different
sessions. We didn't have enough choruses
lined up to do all that. We made the time,
and now we have several new choruses added
to our list. That's something we knew we needed
to do, but just never seemed to get around
to actually doing... I don't think any of
that was a coincidence. I can't wait to see what God's got brewing!
8/12/2000
Extreme Cafe - Terrell, TX. Broken down,
late, and short a guy. Talk about hopeless.
Extreme Cafe called us at the last minute
because their scheduled band couldn't make
it. By the way, thanks guys for calling on
us first. We consider that a HUGE honor.
So on the way to the gig, the truck breaks
down. We called the coordinators, and they
sent a truck to get us and the trailer. We
got there, played the gig, and tore down.
Then Extreme Cafe lived up to its name by
blessing us in an extreme way. They were
able to lift the burden of the broken vehicle
from our hearts. That was obviously their
obedience to God. We were left absolutely
speechless. Then, they hauled the trailer
to a safe place, took us back to our truck,
and we drove home in it. The guys at Extreme
Cafe must've been praying like they said
they would. Guys, I missed it a little -
I predicted we'd be able to drive 70 mph
back home, but it was only 65! Amazingly
the next day, the truck would only go 35
mph! Can you say "That ain't to coincidinc?"
8/11/2000
Midnight Volleyball - Fanin Bible Baptist
- Bonham, TX. 8 SOULS SAVED!!! There were 8 or 9 other decisions as well.
How can I say any more? Well, I can because
there is more - a lot more What an awesome
thing. Man, we're gonna be on the genius
level when God is finished teaching us stuff.
Nothing went right it seemed. No one's schedule
worked out as planned, everyone was out of
touch, and everyone was late. We had to change
the schedule of the event because of everyone
being "lost and confused." When
it was all said and done, though, it was
obvious that God had His own schedule and
His was WAY better than ours. If we had've
played when scheduled, about half of the
kids would've missed the music, testimony,
and invitation time. God knew what He was
planning on doing, we just needed to be shown
the way. So what did we do different? NOTHING!
It's obvious that God chose to move and we
just had to be obedient to allow it all to
happen. We can't take any credit and don't
want to do so. We're just thankful that God
used us and that we could be part of 8 souls
being added to the kingdom. Hey, God... Please
do that again, okay?
When everything looked hopeless, we still
had hope and peace - but God was planning
on teaching us to trust Him the next night.

Extreme Cafe - Forney, TX. WHOAH, MOMMA!
Please, please, please, God let us do more
like this one! The kids were the right age,
the numbers were about right, the music jammed,
and the message was heard! What more can
you ask? There are a group of adults that
sponsor this thing - providing a massive
sound system, lights, and refreshments -
just so kids have an uplifting place to go
on the weekends. While there, they get a
message taught to them. If every town in
the US had this going on, it would only be
6 months before the whole nation turned back
to God. Thank you for your faithful work, adults. Whether you see it or not,
you are definitely making a difference. We've
been invited back and can't wait to worship
with you guys again.

The Square Coffee Pot - Rockwall, TX. Oh
man! What a cool place! Paris needs something
like this. People chillin', Mocha double
latte and espresso wafting through the air,
and D13 rockin' the house! (Well, maybe I
exaggerated a little). No, it was a great
experience with great people at the Coffee
Pot and a totally awesome place. God taught
me a lot about trusting Him when the truck
started overheating on the way down to this
gig.

Summer Youth Concert - Detroit Baptist Church.
OK, God. We get the message. Whether it's
two kids or two hundred, we're gonna praise
Your name. We believe you open the door for
every gig, so there must've been someone
there who needed to hear something we said
or sang. Thank You, God for the opportunity
to serve.

Youth Rally - First Methodist - Paris, TX.
What a blessing! These kids had scraped and
painted two houses this week and we were
a small part of their earthly reward. We
saw the before and after pictures. Let me
tell ya - "this wasn't no picnic project."
In today's world, it sure is great to see
the good kids making a difference. We understand
their work changed the heart of an elderly
man they helped. Why don't you see stories
like this on the evening news?

High Way Christian Center. Check out the
picture of this gig on the pictures page. Yeah!
That's us at a Sunday morning worship service!
Where's the 3-piece suit? These guys know
how to have a praise service. Once a year
they have an extremely casual summer service
that is nothing but praise, worship, and
fellowship. Where would all the "stuffy
liturgy-ridden" churches be able to
reach if they could just get past the religion
of being Christian? We look forward to doing
this gig again in the future.

Models of the Maker Christian Women's Shelter
Benefit - Cool stuff! For some reason, I
still get amazed when I see God moving. The
gig was great, but we got a lot more out
of it than the audience will ever know. The
situation during setup and preparation for
the gig taught us volumes about trusting
God. I pray we never forget the lessons we
learn upon the way. God has obviously orchestrated
every move made including the members of
the group. It always amazes us when we step
back and look at the perfect diversity among
the four of us. What one lacks, another exceeds
in and as a group, we are complete. We have
everything we need right here in the middle
of God's hand. Thank you, God.

Lock-in - Powderly Baptist. God showed up
again. We played a little, stopped to eat,
played a little more, and then Pat's son
John gave a devotional. Man that's cool to
see father and son ministering like that.
There were lots of kids and I think we got
a good solid message across to them. I saw
a few of the kids' eyebrows raise when "It
isn't love" was introduced. Some of
them weren't expecting to hear about sex
from a Christian band. At least now we can
know that the kids that were there will think
twice before they confuse sex and love. We
finished the set on a high note - the Power.

Pastor's conference - God proved His divine
planning once again. All the right people
were exactly where God would have them be
and all were like-minded. This was a time
for one minister to share his God-given vision
of a united church in Lamar County. That
means no racial, theological, or political
lines drawn between individuals or churches.
He along with several other ministers believes
that Lamar Country will be God's if only
we will follow Him by uniting.

Youth Explosion 2000 - What a complete and
total blast! There were 5 bands in total
at this event in the Love civic center in
Paris. We played just before Forty Days (The
band involved in the Wedgewood incident)
Man, has God ever used even that hideous
event for His glory! These guys were an awesome
witness and example of keeping your head
on straight while serving God and being in
the limelight. That's not a task easily carried
out. I will never forget the bass player's
words when we asked if we could use his awesome
bass rig. He said with a very kind spirit
about him, "Sure man - tear it up! Change
anything you need to. It doesn't belong to
me anyway - It belongs to THE MAN!"
WOW! We had the honor of praying with the
guys before going on stage. The prayer was
awesome and each and every person focused
on the main point which was put very eloquently
by Chris from Forty Days - "We just
want to be Jesus with skin..." These
guys should be supported every chance you
get!
Check out their website at www.fortydays.com
Other groups at the event were Sabbatical,
Crimson Patchwork, and "Adams Band"
for lack of a better name. These guys came
together just for this gig, but they were
so good they should really stay together
and do some work for God. All the bands were
just awesome.
Most importantly, there were several decisions
made by youth at the event. Counselors were
available for them. That's the way it ought
to be. God is GOOD!
